Programs and Community Services In addition to providing services to our residents and their families, Quality Life Services also takes great pride in the numerous health care and educational services provided to members of the community. Details of the programs are provided by using the set of links at the left side of the page, or by clicking on a topic below. One service provided is our Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group. Quality Life Services understands the difficult challenges of caring for a loved one with a memory deficit. Our monthly support group, which offers supervision for the loved one during the meeting, provides a quiet haven to listen, talk or simply watch. Insight, knowledge, expertise. That is what Quality Life Services offers community groups, churches and civic organizations through the free Speaker's Bureau Program. Topics, including long-term care insurance, nursing home services, advance directives and senior recreational programs, will be tailored to each organization's particular needs. Making the transition to a nursing or personal care home can be difficult. To help, Quality Life Services offers several alternatives. Our Respite Care Program offers short-term care while the family caregiver tends to medical needs or enjoys a weekend holiday. Our Adult Day Health Care Program offers a helping hand by providing a well-balanced structured day for the loved one while the caregiver shops, visits with friends or runs errands. The Emergency Placement Program is available should an at-home caregiver suddenly be unable to care for the loved one. If a caregiver should become ill or need to leave town, Quality Life Services will quickly admit the loved one without hesitation. Long-term care is a major concern for many Americans. Studies show that Americans rank long-term care, second only to retirement, as a true financial need. Unfortunately, many people neglect to thoroughly plan for the costs of long-term care. As a result, tens of thousands of Americans are left impoverished by the rising costs of nursing home care.
