Joseph, admitted to our Sarver location on 10/25/21 for a short-term rehab stay, just three days shy of his 100th birthday. During his stay, he worked with our therapists to reach and actually surpass each goal the therapy team set for him.
After only 21 days, he could stand on his own and walk for 400 feet without his walker. He also was able to climb 20 stairs with a bit of assistance. The only goal he did not achieve was to be home for his 100th birthday, but he was able to spend the day surrounded by his friends and family.
Rehab Treatment for the Elderly
Joseph was very proud to gain his independence back and was excited to go home, but he said he would miss all of the staff who helped him and all of the fellow residents he became friends with.
Our Sarver location was privileged to assist this World War II Veteran and former POW to get back home safely, where he wanted to be.
